Time between tests

It has been suggested to me (by various NHS professionals) that if you, as a non-diabetic, happen to have a blood test and as part of that, they screen your blood for Diabetes, Cholestorol, Kidhey Function, Throid etc etc and report back on a high BG level that could indicate Diabetes, they should always carry out a second test in 3 - 6 months time to confirm.

Can anyone here confirm that in their experience, the timeframe is a minimum 3 months?

TW is right. If a standard blood test identifies possible diabetes then they should call you in as soon as possible for a glocose tolerance test if they are not sure, or an HBA1C if the level is above borderline.

The 3 months/6 months is the frequency of HBA1C tests. These are supposed to be every 3 months on first diagnosis, then every 6 months when BS levels have reduced and stabilised, then annually once the patient has proved they have good control.
