When first diagnosed and starting tablets did you need to take time off work? I have my first appointment with the Diabetes team tomorrow since diagnosis.

It has all been such a shock and I have taken a few days off. I work on a very busy acute hospital ward. Is it recommended to take sometime off when starting metformin for example?
 
a fair number of people report diarrhoea, at least initially with Metformin. Others are fine. So if you don’t take time off a Friday might be a good time to start it, with the possibility you might be calling in sick Monday
