I read about this product last year and now see it is being marketed at £25+VAT, handy for those times when you doubt yourself if you have injected or not:

http://timesulin.com/

I too have been following this and lots have been said about it on another forum.

Its sad at the moment that the device will only fit certain insulin pens but in the time this will probably be addressed.

Another company to rival is called Insulchek and this looks to cover the insulin pens that the Timesulin doesn't.

I think Novo Nordisk's Echo half unit insulin pen is now available in the UK and that has a memory feature so for people using Novo insulins an Echo pen will be ok.

Nice idea. My meter has a built in alarm function (Bayer Contour) so I can see a use for it. There is always room for more helpful innovations! :D

Yes the Accu-chek meters have an alarm built in too which can come in handy. In 30 years I've only ever forgot to inject on two occasions but there are times when there has been an element of doubt if I have injected or not, often getting distracted by someone is the biggest cause.

I think this is a great idea, not useful for us now that Jess is on the pump but would have been very handy when she was on injections as there were times when we couldn't remember if the injection had been given or not.

Interesting that you've brought this thread back up Sophia. I was reading an article the other-day that said the battery in the Timesulin are not replaceable and they only last 18-24 months, it seems a lot of money to spend when you have to throw it away after such a short time, although they are working on making a new version where you can replace the battery.

I stumbled across timesulin today and was going to make a new post but then found your thread as I did a search first to see if someone else had mentioned it, and you had :) I didn't know about the battery problem, that is a lot of money if it has to be thrown away so yes I think re-designing it to take a replacement battery is a must.

Yes the Novodisk Echo pen is now available in the UK, Hubby picked his up last week well chuffed with it, ask for one because it meant that he now has 2 totally different pens for bolus and basal injections, and he'd had a couple close shaves almost injecting his bolus insulin instead of his basal

But he's well chuffed with the memory function on it..
