So I have been amazing with my diet since about new year. I did have one bad night where I had takeaway but other than that superb. In fact for the last two weeks have been even better.

now. I am driving instructor and so can’t return to work any earlier than 12 April but no actual date as yet.

my aim was to get my bloods done at end March so I can see just how much difference my diet has made to my hba1c since nov.

so I have booked tests in for 22/3.
I really wanted later but then it’s very close to easter (and I may have a chat over Easter so don’t want that to ruin things), and dr often has school holidays off.

so from new year (bar my blip) to 22 March is that long enough a time to make a big difference to my hba1c if my diet efforts have made a difference?

They say that the a1c test is slightly biased to the latter part of the 3 months or so that it measures. In short that means any extra low carbs between now and the rest are likely to make a difference. Fingers crossed for you

When was you last?
I've had a recent test that was rejected by the lab becauee it was under 3 months.

Generally I believe it works over 3 months but favours more recent. I also have reasonably regular higher carb days, still got a 38, so don't think one blip will impact your average

My last one was November so the 3 months isn’t an issue.
It’s really just in terms of getting the most out of this test to see how low I have got it.

I'm the same, 3 monthly over the last few tests with Dr support tonwean off drugs. It's really a boost when you see the change
