T2 and have only been on a pricker monitor for two weeks and my numbers are coming down but my morning bloods average 9.4. Assuming that I am subject to the "dawn Phenom" I am thinking of changing the timing of my metformin. I usually tale one 500mg after each meal, but I tend to eat an early supper.. (5-6ish) so does anyone think it might help if I take my last pill later - say, 10ish?

I agree with the Squire.
Metformin is a drug that builds its effectiveness slowly over time, so that individual doses don't really have much up/down impact on a single dose basis. I believe it takes 3 weeks or so for the drug to build up to full effectiveness.
