She's just been on this morning saying she's post 10 stone and is going for IVF at 50

She also said she was on insulin for 20 years and now has totally eradicated her diabetes!?

false hope for people struggling with Diabetes??
 
I watched this. Having babies is for young people ... She said that she was on insulin, I can't find anything that says what type she was. She must have been Type 2 and ate a load of cr*p. Diabetes never goes away, you can be a well controlled one, but it always stays lurking.

I just think it's a bit wrong for we to say that as the less informed diabetics could take that completely as they can be cured!!

I'm new to all this, I'm 31 and type 2 but I know that, like you said, it can be very well controlled but not reversed!!!
 
The media rarely gets all their facts right, in this case they are probably just publishing what an uniformed diabetic told them. I was on insulin for a year I lost 4.5 stone and came off insulin but I am sadly not cured just well controlled :thumbup:

Any overweight T2 can improve their condition by losing weight they cant cure it however, lots of members here have non diabetic HbA1c's but they are still diabetics.

Tina Malone is only a sad person that needs help with her self inflicted problems.

I have not got a weight problem yet Type 2. People say to me "you don't look like a Diabetic" I think to myself what does a diabetic look like ! and how do they know what a diabetic looks like !

I do get told quite a bit that I too don't look like a diabetic!!
