Hi everyone I'm T2 and on metformin 2000 mg a day but for the last 2 months i have been having tingling in my thumb and finger on my finger next to my little finger on my right hand For the last 3 days i have felt tingling in my left hand When this happened i did check my BS and found it had gone down to 3.3 or around 3. something but felt OK but it may have been OK at around 5.6 to 6.4 which is normal for me I then take maybe 2 glucose tablets and things go back to normal most of the tingling in my left hand has gone Dose anyone know why this is happening Normally if i drop below 4 i normally start to feel shaky and have a banana or something to bring my bs back up to normal Thanks

Probably best to discuss with your GP or nurse. May just need an adjustment to the Metformin dose. PS Is there a decimal point missing from your weight in your signature?

Fruitella Thank you Yes you have made me loose weight instantly yes forgot the decimal point

I second the advice to speak to your doctor @pamK

It might be completely unrelated to your diabetes, so it's always best to check

I agree, may be wise to check with your GP. A thought did occur to me though - are the tingly fingers ones you use frequently for finger prick testing? I know I can experience this tingle sometimes, so I give those fingers a long rest from pricking.

Hi The 2 fingers are on my left hand where i dont use for my blood test I did my 6 mth blood test Thursday and to see DN on th 17th July she is on holiday later so will wait till then
I have been testing before i go to bed and my BS has dropped to 3.2 around there so i take a glucose tablet but i don't know why this is happening been doing it for about 2 weeks now since i started do the LCHF Felt not good at teatime and i had dropped to 3.2 so had a banana and some lucozade to bring my BS up
