Advice please.

I have had a mild tingling sensation in my hands and feet for a couple of weeks now, not very noticeable but definitely there.

I have also had pain in my legs, mainly around the shin area and knees, both feel like they are on fire. I am finding it increasingly difficult to get moving as I feel really stiff. Am I correct in thinking that this does not sound like signs of neuropathy..neuropathy is mainly contained in the toes and fingers?

I don't feel too well generally, very weary without any energy and am retaining fluid around ankles again.

Thanks.

Not sure ladybird; I have heard of hot shins being a symptom, but it can also be symptom of a million other things I'm sure. Perhaps give it a few days then see the doc; if he's not good, and you're troubled, insist on seeing a specialist.

Ladybird/Angela - it is possible that your symptoms are caused by neuropathy, mine started off with burning sensations on my shins and calves, felt as if I had brushed past some nettles, eventually spread to fingers and toes. But I never had swollen ankles with it.
My neuropathy has almost disappeared since I have gained much tighter control of my bg levels, still have some numbness in my toes, but it doesnt affect me.
There could be other reasons for your symptoms, eg allergies or a reaction to medicines?? I'd say go and get it checked with the doctors, you are not feeling too well, you have swollen ankles, perhaps your medication needs reviewing??

I hope you feel better soon x x
