Tips for being ill on the pump

So yesterday my BG was on the high side but I thought it was the stress of my son being in hospital last night. I have stayed over with him and in the morning I set a temp basal of +30% to cover stress. His procedure went smoothly but as the day went on I began to suspect I was ill. I was thirsty ALL the time, I can't seem to get warm at all and I just feel pants. I kept checking BG and extended my +30%. The annoying thing was when I ate I was going sky high at the 2 hour mark and had to keep bolusing to get my BG down. My set is now really sore and I will be changing it when we get home.

The thing is this is the first time I have been ill on the pump where my BG is affected. I thought a temp basal would work but the food peaks threw me. Is this normal? How do other people cope? Any tips?

Hi Mushy,
You might find you need to have more insulin per carb ratio as well when unwell. Hope you feel better soon and the little one recovers well.
