Tiredness - Diabetes related?

Ive been feeling tired now for a good 2 weeks. I have tried having less sleep, more sleep but still i feel tired.

Ive heard that metformin can casue this but ive been on it for months now with no issues.

So, a few days ago i decided to stop my metformin and alter my diet a little to keep my levels down (so far so good 5.7 atm) to see if that stops me being tired and no luck.

Can diabetes its self casue tiredness?
 
Hi Sean, diabetes can indeed cause tiredness, it was one of my main symptoms just before diagnosis.Of course then my blood glucose was 24 but I am not on Metformin so I can't comment on that, regards, Debra x

Tiredness? with diabetes? YEP definetely a symptom.
I too, have tried topping up on sleep to see if it made any difference? then tried bit less sleep to try and sharpen my witts up! Nothing worked... to my annoyance!
Have you gone back on the prescribed metformin?
