I would like to ask about tiredness.
immediately after eating I could seriously lie down and not get up.
It doesnt seem to matter if the meal is high or low carb (they are usually low carb)
I have done lots of testing to investigate this problem, and my numbers before eating are usually in the 4's, an hour after in the 6's, and 2 hours after back down in the 5's or 4's

I am a very busy carer for my 81 year old Mum and also care for my Grandson some of the time. and have a 5 hour a day job as an Administrator for a Letting Agent.

My own thoughts on this are that I seem very sensitive to movement in my BG's as when it is dropping - leading up to meal times, I als get this feeling but when the feeling settles down I know that my BG has probably gone down to 4-ish and will need to eat soon.

I wonder if the answer lies in the above sentence Amanda, probably due to your hectic lifestyle both working and caring for your loved ones.

I know when I come home from work and eat I often feel like sleeping afterwards, must be the feeling of content having a full stomach and part of the winding down process. Should you be overly concerned by this I would see your gp and discuss this matter, it may well be unrelated to your diabetes so always best to get a consultation.

...... I wish I had the luxury of taking it easy after a meal  Maybe I should insist on it in future!

Hi Amanda/Linda :)

Sometimes our health issues mean we have to re-prioritise other things in our lives. Some things we re-schedule, others we cut down and others we cut out or get outside help in. If we don't do it ourselves then events often overtake us and then we have no choices at all! I know as I have been there and done it and had it all happen to me :!:

Sounds like you need to at least talk to your family and discuss the situation you are in; you would benefit from a total re-evaluation of what YOU actually want from your own life.

There is no such word as can't but there is often a word imposed on us - MUST! :(
