Tiredness

Which medication/s are you taking?

Some of the more common reasons for tiredness are:

(1) The blood glucose roller coaster
(2) Vitamin or mineral deficiencies, especially D3, B12, folate, magnesium, potassium, sodium
(3) Thyroid issues

though I'm sure there are others.

Before diagnosis, I would regularly need to go back to bed after eating a breakfast that spiked my blood glucose. I also had a Vitamin D3 deficiency at the time.

I remember when I was diagnosed how tired I was all the time, no energy to do anything. Hopefully with a bit of time, medication and some dietary changes you will start to feel more energetic.

Definitely consider the points Indy raised. If all of them are under control and you are still tired, one possibility is obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome, common with T2 and often missed by patients and doctors. If not that, then there are several other possible conditions. Your GP can help solve the puzzle.

I was completely and permanently exhausted and brain fogged for several years before I was diagnosed. For me getting rid of all sugary and high carb foods from my diet helped me greatly and i now feel human again. So my advice would be to cut the carbs, and see if this helps you.
