As a 42 years old T2 weighing 140kg I have decided to kick my life into gear and do something about my health. Exercise over the last 6 weeks has ground to a halt as I have developed a hernia, basically I feel like I am falling appart. Doc told me straight last week that my H1 had gone up to 10.1 from 8.2 so I need to get myself in order. More importantly I have to go onto Insulin after being on Byetta for 2 years.

Today I started drinking stuff they call water, its midday and I am on my third litre, this stuffs not bad you know and its free. Dont get me wrong I did drink coffee, lots and lots of coffee and lots of milk in the coffee. So its now all in the bin now and in its place is green tea.

As far as the low carb bit goes I am unsure anyone got any recommendations?

thepominlaw - and I am sure that you can achieve what you set out to do.
I know of a woman who weighed in at 27st, she is doing Atkins and so far lost over 13st, secret is one day at a time, dont think too far ahead, plenty of support from those around you and you will find it here in the forum as well. We are with you all the way.

Where do you start? I think your first port of call should be Viv's Modified Atkins Diet, then look through the low carb recipes section for a lot of delicious recipes, most of them tried and tested by members before they are posted.

You can even have the odd chocolate treat, have a look at the Chocolate Paradise thread, also in the low carb recipe forum.

There's lots of great advice and recipes here as well as lots of great support. Good Luck :D
