I would have to agree with that statement RRB. My friend and I started to go for walks as part of our diet regime. It has now turned into a way of maintaining our present, acceptable, condition. I think that if we hadn't started our walks we wouldn't have lost the weight we did and be as fit as we are. Which in my case aint saying a lot, but I could be worse! My friend, as I have mentioned in other posts, is a remarkable 83 year old lady. She bought her first car, a 1930 Austin 7, in 1958. 2 years later she had passed her test and drove it to Czechoslovakia with her husband as navigator because he couldn't drive. Amazing. She still has the car and we use it often. We walked on Portreath beach today. 1/2 mile walk to the beach, walk along the beach both ways, about 1/2 mile again, then walk back to the car. If the sand is soft the walking is harder. The sea air clears the lungs too.
