most annoying! A pair of scissors fell from a cupboard and I ended up with a nasty cut on my toe. I suppose I have to keep an eye on its healing?

Hi @GeorgiyH . If you have good control of your BS and have no neuropathy issues you should be okay.
Keep an eye on your injury especially if your BS control is difficult or you do happen to have neuropathy issues.
Maybe purchase some scissors with the round ends or wear steel toe cap slippers.:)
Hope you heal soon.

In your shoes, I'd be getting a dressing or plaster on there until healing is under way, but do make sure you check it regularly; daily, at the very least. If you feel nervy about that approach or notice any increase in redness of inflammation (usual signs would be heat, pain and/or swelling), then toddle off to have it checked at your surgery.

Fingers crossed it'll heal up nicely.

YES !!!!!!! Even caring for it keep an eye on it !!! I can show you a few pics of what I'm going through right now from a toe that I knew had a cut and ignored it (well...put a bandaid on it) and watched it turn a few different colours before I saw my doc. 25 days in the hospital and 35 days of homecare and another surgery next week all could have been avoided if I only had that cut looked at in the beginning !!

Thanks all. Yes, I put a plaster on it. Still quite painful of course, and to quote (misquote?) Shakespeare, 'who would have thought the old man to have so much blood in him?'

Please also consider seeing a doctor soon for the injury, preferably an orthopaedic surgeon because you have diabetes and for the peace of mind.
