Toe issues

Hi All.Type 1 diagnosed nearly two months ago, with really high BG and HbA1c results (35 mmol/l and 90 mmol/mol respectively). Thankfully, I established good, consistent BG control within a couple of weeks of diagnosis and my HbA1c status is downward (72 mmol/mol on 24 September). My main current worry is a difficult to describe sensation in my toes - something like a combination of numbness/pins and needles. It only disappears when walking and I assume that it's due to irreversible peripheral nerve damage. What I'm wondering is, if this has happened so early on, what's the future going to be like, toe-wise and what about the effect on other major organs? Apologies, I am uncharacteristically negative about my diabetes today. Any thoughts/comments gratefully received.

Also, I'm thinking about buying "Think Like a Pancreas". Can ayone advise if this is suitable for reading on a mobile phone Kindle?

The numbness/pin & needles sensation may just be a temporary symptom due to your high bg levels @John_H, but it goes without saying that if your concerned then do see your Dr and have your toes examined.

Not sure if the book is available on a Kindle but it is an excellent read.

The book is available on Kindle. It's really very good. Try out Integrated Diabetic Services, it's run by the author. A small clinic, all diabetes like us and so helpful. You're not alone! Hugs
