Insulin
I am currently 6 weeks pregnant and am on novo rapid and levemir...no matter what I eat I am having to inject at least 30 units with most meals is this normal and ok....can too much Insulin be harmful for baby?
Before each of my pregnancies I have had poor control but am very strict with myself when pregnant.

Congratulations on your great news If you need more Insulin, then your body is telling you that you need it. Another trimester will mean a lot less, so it can be up and down with the Insulin for a few months.

Good luck and I wish you all the best,

Best wishes RRB

Hi. 30 units would be high for a non-pregnant person but diabetes in pregnancy is different. Is your natural weight quite high? If so, that would help explain it. I wouldn't worry but if you do have excess weight apart from the forthcoming baby then some sensible adjustment to diet by reducing carbs a bit might make a difference but I wouldn't worry.
