Too much medication ?

Hi all , dont know if anyone can offer any help , I am type 2, diagnosed 16 months ago . I have managed to control BG with diet and exercise but have also been on meds for high BP for many years . Last time I saw the nurse, my BP had reduced to 130/70 , I am 63 years young and very active and healthy but no mention was made of reducing my meds which are beta blockers , lisinipril (sp ?) and a water retention tablet . Very recently , I have felt cold, really cold, cant get my hands warm and am wondering if maybe I am now over medicated , has anyone else had these symptoms after losing a lot of weight and getting in control please ? Just to add that my weight loss of 5 stones has been over 16 months, no fad type diet and whilst I feel very fit indeed , I cant cope with being so damned cold all the time !

When I lost a lot of weight once I also felt cold all the time. I think it's because the fat layer has gone that keeps you warm. I did however go through a period when my legs were always cold when I did need to lose weight. That was all because I went in a swimming pool where the water was much too cold and the effects lasted for months. I don't know why it happened. It was quite a long time before I was diagnosed. At least a good excuse to wear more clothes Unfortunately I am too hot all the time now

I don't think it can be a question of "over medicated" but perhaps one of the things you are taking has that as a side effect. Worth looking it up.

I havent actually lost any weight but do find that my hand and feet are almost always freezing Am on Ramipril and Simvastatin but not sure if they could be causing it. I wear gloves in the house and also lovely thick socks on top of thinner socks as layers help retain the heat and if you get warm you can take the top layer off. Hope that helps a bit
