Fat is least likely to increase your blood scores, followed by protein, then the big daddy of carb. That's one of the reasons you will see increased fats advised on here.
I'm a similar vintage to you, at 57, and I have to steel myself to eat more fat, but needs must . It's interesting, but my OH has always eaten butter, when I might have had Flora, full fat milk, when I would have semi-skimmed, and now I've been discussing reverting both of us to full fat milk, and he says he doesn't like it any more. The "conversion" to semi-skimmed milk to a while to achieve, the reconversion could take even longer!
