Hello, I'm glad you got an appointment for friday, I hope it's not an infection. Not testing with high bgs and not injecting insulin will be a breeding place for infections and the mouth is one of those places. For time being I'd say try your best to test at each meal and prior to your meal, try and inject the insulin for the carbs in your meal. If you can floss or buy tepe brushes and some mouth wash to help with your dental hygiene to reduce the bacteria for the infection to breed on. Salty warm water does help with pain as well.As I state in the title of the thread I’m type 1.
My problem is due to the pain I’m forgetting to test my bsl and also inject my insulin around meal times.
I’m taking regular paracetamol, ibrufen and codeine. Had a less painful night last night thanks to the addition of the codeine and also sleeping/ laying on a cold damp facecloth.
I have a dentist appointment Friday morning first thing that was the soonest as an emergency appointment.

I’m not going as high as I was when I do remember to test and inject. I don’t think it helps much that we’ve had a lot of company around meal times this week. So rushing to the table to get my seat.
