Tracker apps T3

Good morning

I was diagnosed a little while ago but I’ve not really been actively managing anything apart from taking my Metformin.
I had a chat with the diabetes nurse yesterday and it was frightening. My HBA1C was double what it’s supposed to be so it’s lit a fire under me and I need to take this seriously now.

I’m wondering what tracker apps people are using to monitor their blood sugar, any recommendations?

I downloaded some but the measurements were different from my monitor, so I’m not sure if I need a different monitor or a different app.

My results come out as 7.5 for example and the app was asking me in mm something and gave 82 as an example. Do I have to use a formula to work it out?

Are there any apps that track both blood sugar and blood pressure (cos that’s bad too)? And bonus points if they are free or cheap subscriptions.

Apologies if I didn’t explain very well, I’m just in a bit of a panic at the moment.

Many thanks

I use Mysugr app. It keeps track of your readings and other info you input. I.E. carb counts, food choices, blood pressure, weight, activity, etc. it will even estimate a. A1C.
I think you can programme it for the different values.. I.e. I use the mmol/l type reading rather than the mg/ dl type reading.

You can get reports as well showing your results over a 2 week span etc.

I cannot help you with the app. I may be wrong, but it looks like the 7.5 would be a percentage so 7.5%. % is a unit of measurement we use in Canada for HbA1c . The UK, however uses for its HbA1c measurement mmol/mol, hence the much larger number. So 7.5 % = 58 mmol/mol in the UK.

To complicate matters further the US uses mg/dl for its HbA1c so 7.5% would be 169 mg/dl.

Here is a conversion chart for blood glucose measurements.
Apologies if this is not what you were asking.
