Tracking stacking

Hi
A few years ago I found an Android app that as well as tracking BG, it also tracked insulin.
It showed the effective insulin in your system. ( Used profile for your particular insulin).
So multiple injections would be shown as an increasing level in your system, slowly decreasing over time.
Now I can't find the app. I'm using Ryzodeg (has looong acting part) so stacking does occur.
I get early morning highs. So stacking will occur.
Any suggestions or ideas.
Thanks

Hi @MartinT57 , welcome to the forum.
Not an answer to your question, but Ryzodeg is a mixed insulin of 70% long acting (basal) insulin and 30% quick acting (bolus) insulin.

Considering you are apparently adjusting your doses on a daily base depending on either meals (carbs) or numbers you see throughout the day, have you ever thought about switching to a T1 style basal and bolus regime?

Mixed insulins are usually prescribed at set doses going together with a set eating regime. This is because whenever you find you'll need an adjustment or correction for meals, you'll also adjust the long acting part of your insulin, and the other way around.
With separate insulins you'll need to inject more often, but it's also more flexible because you can keep your basal dose the same while adjusting for higher or lower carb meals, or for early morning highs.

With Ryzodeg, you're not only stacking mealtime insulin, but every time you take extra insulin to correct or cover a higher carb meal, you're also increasing your basal. I don't think an app would be capable of tracking this.

fwiw XDrip+ can track this (basal and bolus), but the way it does it isn't particularly useful at the moment (IMO) as you end up with a massive offset of IoB (but not all of it is active.) It would be useful to do this properly, though whether that is via XDrip+ or DIY I don't know.

I must admit I'm not sure how easily one can add new insulins to XDrip+ - it is possible afaiu, but not via the GUI. It's not something I've needed to do as my insulins are already available.
