I thought I would just mention this to all my fellow diabetics.
While searching for travel insurance last year I noticed that our 'specialist' site for travel insurance quotes 300% more than other sites that will insure exsisting medical conditions!
My travel insurance for a week in europe covering both type 1 and hypothyrodism cost me £10 - or £8 if I didnt want to include the exsisting medical conditions (errr  ) so I think actually this is a bargain. Whereas the 'specialist' site wanted £30+ for the same thing.
Long and short of my story - told in work time  - is that you should always shop around! These people make good money from people who pressume firstly that they are cheaper and secondly that they are specialists!!! They arent specialists - they either insure your condition or they dont! So don't be lazy and shop around
