Hi, so I’m from Northern Ireland and me and my partner are looking to go over to Australia for a few months to visit family. However I’m quite anxious about this because my insulin.. I’m not sure how getting a prescription would work over there ? And with the long flight aswell how would the insulin keep on the plane. Has anyone travelled far distances and have any tips or helpful suggestions ?

If you're going for "a few months" why would you need a prescription? It's perfectly possible to go 2-3 months without needing a prescription. If you don't think you're repeat prescription will last however long your planning on being away, see your GP to ask about getting a script that does provide enough supplies to last for your travels.

Take insulin in hand luggage. Put unopened insulin in a frio pouch. Once you get there, stick it in fridge (I'm assuming you're staying with the family you're going to visit). Simple.

We have Tons of all of the Major Brands of Insulin here in this very Diabectic country. The Public Bulk Billing GP,s if you have your Passport and a letter from your GP will supply your Insulin for your whole stay in any Australian City. All Trans-Atlantic and Trans-Pacific Airline Flights will let you Store your Insulin in there Refridgerator and you get take If out yourself without asking. The Airlines will make special Meals for you at anytime day or Night. cheers Mates.
