I have been re-diagnosed as a Type 1 diabetic and am going to travel by plane first time with my insulin. I am wondering whether to purchase a cooling pack to keep my new pre-filled pen cool. Will I be able to carry it through the security if it contains coolling ice pack/gel? Have you got any experience?
Hi Denisa, sorry I can’t help you with your question, but as you have been rediagnosed can I suggest you amend your ‘personal details’ in your profile so your new diagnosis appears under your avatar.

I've never had any issue at security with a Frio wallet.
Keep your insulin in the "hand luggage." Never in the hold.
Airport security? They've seen it all.
Though i've not needed one in my experience. Get a letter from you GP, (a general "to whom it may concern." explaining the meds.?) comes in handy with any questioning at the gate..

Thank you very much. I am going to buy the Frio wallet straight away. I have the letter, my diabetic nurse is fantastic and issued it straight away when I mentioned we were going on holiday. going
