Hi there have been diabetic for 3 years now and have been on insulin for a year now. Jist booked a holiday and wondered if anyone has any tips on storage. 6 hr flight and any recommendations re travel insurance. TIA
Hi @Shellyc, I use Frio wallets for my insulin, they don't keep it cold but do keep it at a safe temperature so it doesn't spoil.
For travel insurance I use Justtravelcover.com

When travelling with insulin & supplies. Keep it with you in the cabin. (Hand luggage.)
Security will have seen it all.. My experience, I’ve never had grief over it..
A guitar pedal. Yep. But not the “drugs.”
I also recommend the Frio wallets if you’re heading somewhere hot?
No worries with having your insulin out of the fridge for that long.
Keep it well insulated and with you in the cabin.
I have often taken insulin on long haul flights and never had an issue.
Frio could be great, if given opportunity to "breath" but be aware some airport security are suspicious of gel.
Thanks for the replies everyone. Got sorted with a frido case and a needle clipper which I had never heard of before. My diabetic nurse was great. Also had never heard of an insulin passport either
