Type 1 Tresiba

Hi guys, quick question is 60 units of tresiba a lot? I’ve gone from taking 40 units about 3-4 years ago to this amount, could it be because at the moment for the past year I’ve stopped going to the gym for almost a year due to an ongoing injury etc?
 
The amount of insulin we need is highly personal, and whatever works is the right dose.
Some people only need 10 units of basal insulin, others need a couple of 100.

I use 100 to 130 units of Tresiba (plus mealtime insulin) and it works well for me. My endo is happy with this and so am I.

Am I correct in thinking you were diagnosed with T1 some 4 years ago?
It takes time for your immune system to kill off most of your insulin producing cells. So it's very normal to see an increase in your dose over time for years.

I'm almost 7 years in and my dose seems to have more or less settled during the past year and a half or so, sometimes I need a little more, sometimes a little less. But before, it was a slow and steady increase over the years.

Ok thanks, I’ll up my dosage tonight for a few days to see if it works with my morning bs

Yes, diagnosed with it just over 4 years maybe, I can’t quite remember. But I do remember I was taking a little less fiasp and less tresiba. May be due to lack of gym time after work, but with injury and a newborn I can’t get back to it just yet.

Tresiba is a fantastic basal insulin for me. However, I understand that we need to adjust it to keep us in a safe zone. My brother and I are both type 1 and we used to compare but quickly learned that both our bodies responded completely differently. Good luck

Thank you. I’m still learning as compared to most I’m new to all this.
