Trialnet screening - UK

Does anyone know much about Trialnet screening in the uk, or has had it done? (Or have family members who have it done!)

I thought I was the only one in my family to have type 1, but about a year ago I found out my half brother had died from DKA, and had been diagnosed with type 1 about a year before aged 36. I have another younger full sister and an older half sister (who was a full sister to my half brother) and I was just wondering about screening. I don't know of they would even want it but there is no point in even talking to them about it if it's not something that can be done here without it being difficult.

Any experiences would be good to hear!

Don't know about Trialnet screening at all, but I would say it was a forgone conclusion for me:-
Dad got it, when I was born
I got it when I was 7
My older brother just got it two years ago.
My Dads' Brother and Sister had it
My cousin (Dads brothers son) had it
So I would say almost definite that there is a family predisposition / gene.
Not sure if this helps.

TBH I'd not heard of it, but I think it's a great idea to be screened for anyone who may be at risk.
