Hi
I have been trying low carb for a couple of years now. It does bring my blood sugar levels down, but leaves me lacking in energy and I lose weight very, very slowly, which isn't good for motivation. I have an interactive thyroid.
Recently discovered Trim Healthy Mama and wondered if anyone has tried it. It suggests eating all meals and snacks with a protein element. Having most meals with fat, protein and non starchy veg ie low carb, but some meals with carbohydrates and protein and a tiny amount of fat. The carbohydrates are not sugary biscuits, cakes or chips!! Apparently, this mixing of fuel types, but never within 3 hours of each other works, is particularly for people with thyroid issues.
Any thoughts??

Hey KateWellsted, interesting scenario. I would think that the only way to know if it works, is to try it for yourself and test as usual to see how the body likes/doesn't like it! Some people just don't have great success with LCHF and that's ok. We are all individuals! Some people can't do IF and some can.....some have great success with Newcastle type diet while others have to bail after a couple of weeks....so only you can decide what you need to do.
I am a very slow loser due to messed up metabolism from loads of chemotherapy and my body seems to go into the mode "oh no, I had better keep any and all calories for later" - hence very little weight loss. So, I have bought 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet and going to give that a go starting next week but doing 4 days 800 cal and 3 days usual LCMF (can't tolerate the high fat). So we shall see!
Best of luck! I hope you find what your body needs soon! Blessings/L
