Has anyone recently started using the incretin mimetic drug Trulicity? I've started 5 weeks ago and I wouldn't mind having someone's input about this drug. I've lost 6 kilos in 5 weeks, it's quite amazing how my appetite has been decreased. Only drawback for the moment is a permanently dry mouth. I'm a bit worried about any effect this drug might have on my kidneys, so am taking a blood test next Monday to check.

I'm also taking Metformim (850 mg x2), some statins once a day (forgotten the name, not happy about this but my doctor gave me a fright last month) and my FG is usually between 110 and 130 mg/dl (or between 6.1 and 7.2 mmol/L). I've been low carbing for a 6 weeks now, and I'd hoped to have a lower FG, but maybe I'm too impatient!!!

Happy Holidays to all...

Hi, I just started it yesterday with trepidation after reading reviews with many mentions of side effects. But, so far I'm happy and I know I will benefit. I had a year where my daughter (adult) was ill with BC so think I was on a mission to make myself suffer. My sugar prior to the first injection in the 20's. But after first injection and in the evening it got down to 6.8. So already impressed. I thought maybe I would feel ill today but not at all and I ate a healthy dinner meat and veg and I'm less tired and think my sight is better. :)

Thanks Maudie, it's reassuring to have someone who has just started like me... I'm still trying to get the hang of eating to my new reduced appetite, but I'll get there. I tend to overeat and then feel really bloated. Some evenings, I've managed not to eat at all, I just wasn't hungry (me, not eat in the evenings, unheard of!!!). I've not noticed any effect on my blood sugar, but then it rarely goes over 7-8 anyway.
Happy holidays

Hi Europa, Well day 5 and still no problems. I've given up bread completely because I always found it bloated me. My sugar still very good almost as it should be. I still haven't had any adverse affects so I'm thinking this is amazing for me. I hope you find the same :)
