Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes just 7 months ago. I'm still on my honeymoon periods and my blood sugars are within range most of the time without even trying hard which is great!
However I've had weird allergy like symptoms on and off now for few weeks (I doubt it's covid or anything as I'm hardly ever leaving the house!) I slept restlessly last night and I've been especially tired this afternoon, and decided to check my ketones which were 0.5. (BG being 5.7 so very good!)
Well I know this is within normal right? Just makes me kind of worried if I ever see any kind of ketone number on the screen of my meter!! Could this be because last time I had novorapid in the morning when I had porridge etc around 9am. Then I had some low carb snacks in-between, and boiled eggs, celery cucumber, hummus etc for lunch so I had no insulin with these.
So are these starving ketones? Or a sign that infection or something is coming? I'm having hard time understanding starving ketones and the whole thing as I've had no guidance so far. My first dietician appointment was postponed because of covid-19
Please help. I'm worrying type and probably be on my toes all evening unless I get some reassurance from more experienced diabetics!
