Good for you Choco, i hope you can keep up the good work.
I too used to like all the chocy bars, snickers, mars bars and easter eggs, especially creme eggs [and crisps, o hell, i want crisps] but i decided its either me or them and i chose me.
I suppose its a type of mindset you need to get into combined with some strong willpower. I havnt had a single choc since being diagnosed in July and only a few crisps and actually i dont miss the chocs but still have a craving for crisps and if i think i am weakening [a trip to the supermarket] i just remind my self that i must consider my health and that its important to keep my blood sugars down and if i do eat the stuff i will pay for it in the end. I will admit, sometimes its hard but you do get used to it.
Other members of this forum have made me think that trips to the supermarket and local foodstore are a challenge that i now quite like as i search for interesting things that i can eat and ime usually successful. For example, i found recently that Sainsburys do a gluten free real sausage. Took some finding, tucked away in their frozen section but it saves me a seperate trip into Tun Wells fighting the traffic and finding somewhere to park.
So Choco, dont give up, get on the forum if you feel overwhelmed, and chat to people and hopefully that will help. I am lucky i suppose, ive a lot of hobbies, moths, fishing, my BXs and of course my dogs and ime well aware that chocolate is poisonous to them, another reason not to have any in the house.
Good luck and keep the faith, ime sure you will win in the end.
