Recently been having good readings in the range 4.5 to 6 due to LCHF diet, so was feeling pleased with myself Good Boy I thought! OOPs Spoke too soon.
Last night I had to drive to a gig, so tested my bgl as a pre meal test. It was 4.7, but as I was about to eat I decided to delay my nightime meds, then check after eating. We ate a good LC meal, then I tested about 40 mins later - 3.6 !!!! So I ate a ricecake which normally brings me up gently. Nope. 20 mins later still too low to drive, so took a glucotab to hurry things along.

Went to the gig and did our set. Tested after the set, as a 4hr PP reading 11.6 Yeez!.

Then I realised I still had not taken my meds. This deflated my belief that I may be in remission !!! Took my meds when I got home. this morning woke to a slight hypo but not worried since I normally have a carby breakfast. Been ok since.

So I am not in remission. Busted!. Keep taking the tablets.

I feel for you, must have been gut wrenching disappointment. I hope you feel able to get up, press on and persist with the LC.

No Worries! I am in this for the long shot. Bit like the stock market - some days you win, others Bust! Just surprised that one glucotab managed to push me so high after an LC meal pushed me suddenly low.

I feel like my Avatar now, so will need to test soon. Just like yesterday, except I do not have to drive tonight, so can accept lower bgl's. LOL
Thanks for your concern. I have gotten used to LC way of life, but as I posted - The next one who declares a full reversal or cure better watch out if I am low. It Ain't necessarily so, Buddy.

That's a bummer for you. :( Maybe one day.

I had a "moment" last week on holiday that reminded me of my Type 2 status. I ate a large barm-cake sandwich (egg mayo and onion). Whoops. My sensor told me the rise from before to after was 7.9mmol/l . That's the RISE, not the level I reached! I was just relieved I was back where I started in the low 5s after 3 hours and was able to persuade myself I was only a little late recovering!

Look on it as being your Physiological Insulin Resistance (PIR) reset.

Oh heck.

It's always there to remind us....

One little slip or test.. There it is!

Well we had Indian take away yesterday including naan bread and rice. BG went up after 30 minutes then came down after an hour then went back up and stayed up for about four hours odd didn't go excessively high but well out of the normal range. FBG of 5.6 this morning. high for me.

So yes no matter how well you think you're doing D will give you the odd reminder if you relax.

Thank you all for responding to my mini rant. I am still very pleased that I have managed to drop my numbers into the prediabetic range even after 10 years of pancreas squeezing. I am on track for a 33-36 Hba1c at present according to my averages, so a blip like I sufffered yesterday soon melts back into the mists. I am not worried, just surprised since I have not had this level for 6 months or so, and it just shows I cannot get rid of my meds (yet). But I am still cutting back on the Gliclazide !!!! had another legal low last night,so back to 'normal'.
