Twisted Ankle

Hi, I found out 3 weeks ago that I have T2 and since then I've twisted/sprained my ankle twice while walking the dog. Neither times was he very sympathetic. And after twisting my ankle both times had to walk at least a mile home. I'm pretty sure it's fine and just a twisted ankle and the second time my ankle was probably just weakened from the first time. But I know diabetes can cause some foot problems and neuropathy. I don't think I have any problems with that because my feet can feel pain just fine, but could this be related and should I get it checked out? Seeing the diabetes nurse in a couple of weeks anyway. Thanks x

Probably bad luck and not DB related. If there is swelling make sure you put something cold on it as soon as possible and look for ways to support it, as it is now considerably weakened. Sore as.
Sorry to read.

I see what your saying here it was "Prof. Plum in the library with the candle stick!"

Sometimes a twisted ankle is just a twisted ankle, nothing to worry about unless your a horse. ;)

Strap it but NOT in elastoplast and don't overdo it. Remove it at night

Hi @Brie912,
It might be worth getting your doctor to check things like your balance and the feeling in your feet just to make sure.
Also he/she might have advice on how to rehabilitate your ankle to prevent further recurrences ( a home-fashioned wobble board is one device I have heard is used and your doctor or a physiotherapist maybe can advise).

Just for clarity, why not elastoplast? I would use a cold compress, elevate and stay off the affected foot as much as possible for a few days. I wouldn't strap up but I might, if I had to, wear footwear which gave support to the anles whilst out.
