two raw eggs each day

As a child, if one was ill or off food, my grandmother used to try to make me drink a raw egg whisked up in milk. That soon made us feel much better - and that was without drinking it.

Also the protein in a raw egg is not fully absorbed.

According to the US Dept of Agriculture raw eggs have the following benefits...

  • 36% more vitamin D
  • 33% more omega-3s
  • 33% more DHA (docosahexaenoic acid)
  • 30% more lutein + zeaxanthin
  • 23% more choline
  • 20% more biotin
  • 19% more zinc

If the egg is not cooked so it is solid I will not eat it.

I do not wish to live to be 117, I watched the old lady scarfing into a slice of cake / cream cake or whatever on the TV last night.

It's not for me, my use by date is still someways off, but I do not want to even get near three figures.

My hens are vaccinated against Salmonella, but would not chance eating them raw ..
