Type 1 all along

Hey everyone thought I'd write an update, so basically it's about a month since I was diagnosed (I think) and I've been on tablets (gliclazide and metformin) with no affect basically. Still high readings 30+ always in the evening. Had the results back of a second blood test and turns out I'm type 1! So Im on insulin now, cried when I seen the needle (used to have phobia but better now) injected myself first time and found it ok. My sugar level tonight was 20.7 literally the lowest it's been in an evening not sure if this was the insulin or just because I'm eating better. Hoping to get my levels in a normal range soon. Thanks Alicia

At least you are on the right track now so that's good news. Don't rush at getting those levels down as you will most likely experience false hypo's as your body adjusts to low blood glucose. They aren't dangerous but they can be unpleasant.
 
As long as you know what type you have and have a good team behind you and if not you have us at the forums :)
 
All the best with your blood sugar control. Having been diagnosed recently too you will soon get used to the daily injections. The great thing is that as long as you take your insulin when required you can carry on with your life as normal
