Type 1 and intermittent fasting

Hello!
Anybody tried intermittent fasting out there? Pros and cons? Complications with management?
What type of fasting do you do??
TIA

Not purposely tried it but you can fast for longer periods if your basal insulin is set at the right dose, for example I use to eat supper but stopped this several years ago whilst trying to lose weight and have never gone back, I eat my evening meal around 6pm and don't eat again until 6.30 - 7 the next morning, so that's over a 12 hour fast.

If you plan to eat just 2 meals a day then getting your basal insulin right is a must, but you know yourself a basal test requires a fasting period to check bg levels so fasting isn't an impossibility, (but I still think 3 good meals a day is the best approach and keeps the body nourished & healthy..........but that's just my opinion).

Thumbs up from me. I usually don't eat breakfast and when I'm good, I don't eat after dinner. That gives me an intermittent fast of around 18 hours per day. I don't do this all the time though.

It helps weight loss and allows me to low carb but at that same time sharing 130g carbs between two meals (which still allows plenty carbs). I like it, but in weekly or fortnightly doses.

Agree with the other two posters. I'll often eat 2,000 calories by 4pm, then nothing till breakfast at around 8am. As long as basal is correct, this works with no issues.
