Type 1 and neutropenia

Hi everyone,

I am a type 1 diabetic for many years and my daugther of 28 years also has type 1. She has brittle diabetes and as she was ofeten very ill they discovered that she sufferes from a severe congential form of neutropenia (a low count of a type of white blood cells specificly needed to fight bacterial/fungal infections. Together with the diabetes it has made her extremely vulnerable.
Are there any people outthere who have experience with the combination diabetes 1/neutrpenia and how they handle it?
