Hello, I'm a type 1 diabetic, have been since 2004.
I take novorapid whenever I eat and half my levimir in the morning (12 units) and the other half at night time (12 units) I take them exactly 12 hours apart. 10am and 10pm.
Every night, without fail, at around 11pm-12am onwards my sugars just spike up high (16 with an arrow pointing up)
I don't snack or have anything sugary after my dinner, I take my dinner time Novo rapid 10 mins before I eat. It doesn't even matter if I over compensate with novorapid with dinner time, it still spikes at those times.
I even go low sometimes (in the 3s) from overcompensating, but I just know it's gunna spike back up so I don't take anything to get them back up, because I know they'll go up on their own, and they do.
I change my levimir does by a couple units and the same thing. No lumps or bumps in my injection sights, pens work fine and needles changed after every use.
The mornings are fine, my sugars are in fact perfect through our the day, just dinner/evening it spikes high.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what is happening?
I am 27 years old.
