I can wake up in the morning and my blood sugar can be 7, and half an hour later it can be 14, without even eating or drinking anything. I do have some mild/ moderate liver damage so this can affect how much sugar the liver produces (less than usual) but they don't seem to be bothered about this, just told me to up my rapid insulin from one unit per 10 carbs, to 1 and a half units per 10 carbs.
