hello all I've had my flu jab this year but have still managed to come down with a horrible case of the flu I haven't been ill in ages and this time I feel absolutely awful can barely lift my head off the pillow and I'm feeling really sick I'm worried about my diabetes throughout all of this my levels are high and I'm not wanting to eat as I feel so sick I've been a diabetic for 20 years now but some helpful advice would be nice x

Hi and welcome to the forum. I cant offer anything constructive as regards your diabetes and insulin but I do hope you feel better soon.

Use sick day rules. If BG is 14 or more, test for ketones.
If you can't eat, that's no problem (assuming you're on MDI) just take plenty of fluids (especially if there's ketones). Use correction doses when too high, and test regularly.

Hopefully you live with someone who can bring you hot or cold drinks while you rest. Paracetamol will help bring down your temperature.

Hope you feel better soon.
