Do you carb count Johnny? My recent hba1c was 10.2 with blood sugar levels averaging at 15 ......in all my years with diabetes I haven't been under 10 for even 1 straight weekit's probably why I feel like the walking dead.
Wow, that's a really high ratio, no wonder it's difficult for you. I'm 1 unit to 20, Morning, 1:20 lunch & 1:15 dinner. Hopefully the pump will really help. Best of luckI carb count yes or I read on the labels. but I don't always stick to a specific ratio my ratio is somewhere between 1 and 1.75 per carb but I'm not exactly sure im afraid to go that little bit up because I very scared of hypos![]()
In total 14 units of lantus, 10 in the morning & 4 @ 10 night timeWhat is your amount of basal insulin for the day?
I've just dropped mine from 12 & 5 to see if it reduces hypos, had the worst one ever on 31/12, own fault as had a really full on week eating out & at friends resulting in me sleeping far too long after taking my basal. I suppose if basal had been correct in reality I shouldn't have went in to hypo. Frightened the life out of me.I take 13 and 6 it seems correct.
You will feel more in control & I know my hospital have pump specialist nurses to give all the support and help you need. Hopefully you will have the same. Yep, the after affects from alcohol is just not worth it. I only drink dry white wine, 4 glasses is my absolute limit now.You are sensitive to insulin iv been very active all my life and I'm skinny but I'm not as sensitive as I'd like to be....but maybe my poor lifestyle is playing it's part. I'm probably ketotic most of the time and dehydrated aswell and hungry. So im quitting the booze completely![]()
I'm on novorapid rather than humalog but my correction would 1 unit to drop by 3What does 1 unit of humalog drop your blood sugar? Mine is 3 to 5
