Hello,
Is there anyone here who is T1 and who uses Metformin alongside an insulin pump, primarily with the aim of reducing postprandial spikes in BG level?
Specific questions:
1. What happens to basal insulin rates on a pump when using Metformin with meals?
2. Can someone using a Basal/Bolus insulin regime omit meals if using Metformin with meals without upsetting basal rates?
3. Is there a version of Metformin whose action over time curve matches - or comes pretty close - to Humalog insulin?
