As you are a wealth of information, I would like to ask your opinions. I was diagnosed type 1 in March this year at 50 years old. 9 years ago I saw my primary care doctor because I was having lows, quite frequently, especially when exercising. At that time, my doctor said that I was boarderline diabetic. I just received a copy of my medical records because I wanted to go back and see what my blood sugar levels were for that diagnosis. Curiously, I find on my records Ketone level 15 and blood sugar without a value, just written normal. What do you make of this?

@Karenchq If you were "borderline diabetic" nine years ago, I think we can assume that it was Type 2, that was being implied, otherwise I don't imagine you would have made it through another eight and a half years without a diagnosis. You could have had high normal blood sugars and you were just being given a warning that you were heading in the wrong direction. The ketones at 15 is odd. Elsewhere on this site, it says that above three requires medical attention. Could it actually be 1.5?
If you are potentially Double Diabetic, that is T1 and T2, it is probably important to look very hard at your diet. If this is the case, I'm sure forum members will be here to help.

Thanks Sally for your thoughts. I did double check to see the number and yes, it was 15.

That's why I was asking

15mmol/L sort of = dead (in the broadest possible terms) so to write it down but do nothing about it by the GP would be most unusual.

15 mg/dL = not that weird, it's at the top end of normal, but still normal to be peeing out. So note in records but no action by GP would be pretty much ok.

Was the 'blood sugar number' a random fingerprick test or an HbA1C?

Thanks, I appreciate your explanations and helping me understand what it means
