Hi, I inject 5 units of levermir at breakfast and 2 units about 5 pm. I stopped taking levermir before bed as it was pushing my blood sugar down to hypo level below 4 mmol during the night when I am sleeping. What is happening now is my liver is releasing sugar into my system between 5 & 6 am the folowing morning and my mmol is going up to around 16 mmol. The levermir is supposed to stop this. At the moment I am taking Novo Rapid to reduce this. What can I do to stop this rise in mmol during the morning.

There are several options:
1. Try one unit of Levemir before bed. See what happens.
2. Wake at say 4.30 and pop the novorapid in.
3. Talk to your team about the possibility of a pump.
Are you checking the overnight levels with a fingerprick or are they Libre numbers? Just because Libre has a tendency to read low if compressed.
