Only the doc can give you a definitive diagnosis.
13.5 is high but could be either T1 or T2.
T1 tends to be in younger people and lots of symptoms like thirst, weeing lots, blurry vision
T2 tends to come on gradually and sometimes you think there are no symptoms, or you could get the same symptoms as above.
Then to confound the problem, there is LADA - late onset T1. Very commonly mis-diagnosed as T2 at first but then the numbers don't start coming down with diet or light meds
Whatever the diagnosis, it's best to know and deal with it. It's not the end of the world although it may feel like it for a while.
