Anonymous Question Type 1 & Steroid Injections

For roughly 10 days you will have very high blood sugars unless you make sure you increase your insulin to counteract the problem.

I've had two to date, as CarbsRok says expect that bg levels might be higher for a few days after the injection.

As far as I'm aware they are safe for people regardless whether they have diabetes or not, if concerned make sure to mention your type 1 to the Dr/Consultant administering the injection.

I have had many steroid injections, yesterday I had 7, 3 along the top of the right shoulder, 2 in the right neck and two in the "flesh" in the right skull. Not too good today due to pain. 8.2 fasting this morning and so on. No need to panic as in a few days all will return to my usual, normal well managed levels. It's all part of managing diabetes and the other (for me several) health problems.
Don't forget stress, worry etc only adds to higher levels.
