Might it be worth taking itat 10am?I take mine at 10pm tooI went for 16u to start with from 22u Lantus, I dropped it to 15 for a few weeks but my sugars were drifting upwards so back on 16u again.
I just wish that if it had to slope down at some point it'd do it at 7 at night, rather than at 7 in the morning
Each flu shot causes me to up my basal rate and bolus amounts by 30% + for about 4 days. I hope you fare better !!I had my jab this afternoon so it is a tad too early to comment on any side effects.
Like you, I had mine at my local pharmacy. I think too many people were missing out on their jabs so the idea is to make it as easy to get as possible. Unfortunately, the consequence of providing the pharmacist with the stabbing opportunities is that doctors' surgeries are providing less clinics.
My pharmacist explained to me that this years vaccination provides protection (in two weeks' time) for the same three strains as last year (Singapore, Colorado and one other) as well as the strain that caught everyone out.
As I didn't react last year, I hope I have less than a 1 in 4 chance of "flu like symptoms" this year, especially as I am away for business tomorrow.
He also mentioned something about "under 65s" getting this dose. As that includes me, I didn't ask what the difference is for more mature patients.
This year, I followed the recommendation to put an "icepack" on it for 5 to 10 minutes as soon as I got home. This is supposed to reduce any inflammation and stop the achy arm feeling. It feels fine at the moment (2 hours later).
Might it be worth taking it at 10am?
Thank youI’d definitely consider taking your Tresiba in the morning. When I switched from Levemir I originally used to take my tresiba in the evening and I used to have similar problems the following morning. Now I take it when I get up, I get a slight dip of about 1-1.5mmol at 3pm-ish but since I know its coming it’s not a problem. Aside from that keeps me flat as a pancake.
Also because it’s long acting I found it doesn’t matter if I take it at 6:30am on week days or 9am (or later) on weekends. When I switched I just missed the evening dose and took it the next morning.
Time to give it a nickname. ?any suggestions ??
@kev-w , @karen8967 , @drahawkins_1973 If Tresiba is so long lasting, 42 hours they say, and it builds up in the system what advantage would you get from injecting in the morning?
No Idea but it seems to work!
Have you reset the MM using a pin in the little hole on the back? Thanks for the explanation @kev-w, @drahawkins_1973
In other news seems my MiaoMiao and phone are not talking to each other, and yes before anyone else says it, I have turned it off and on againso using xDrip as a scanner and so far has not nerfed the sensor...…
Happy Joy Joy!
Delegate, Delegate, Chocolate +++++. Best Wishes!!!Morning all, another night of alarms here, couldn’t get into range for love, money or insulin. I usually take 25u a day altogether, was almost 33u yesterday. So I’ve put my shark week basal programme on my pod, and am looking forward to a few days of diacrap. Not feeling terribly well either, tbh. Bleurgh. Cyborg is broken...

The worst thing is that I’ve run out of chocklit. I do have some cocoa nibs though...Delegate, Delegate, Chocolate +++++. Best Wishes!!!
Oh no! There must be a stash in one of the universes. Urgent delivery with pizza or something. A 7/11 store, a friend who hoards it, anything to have the wonderfood!! Any hot chocolate drink or cocoa at home? Maybe @Knikki has some chocklit cake, special helicopter delivery by Prince William. Where is Paul Revere or Superman or Superwoman when you need them? The worst thing is that I’ve run out of chocklit. I do have some cocoa nibs though...
