? time to read some spy novels to see where they hide their guns and knives? I know an ankle gun/knife carrier is not suitable but who knows what thigh holsters etc might exist? So where are the armourers, Mi5s and 6s when diabetics on pumps need them???Bonjour de Bruxelles a mes colanders
There was me thinking tea of goats cheese and chia seed salad followed by Belgian chocolate in my hotel room whilst doing final meeting preparations would be a productive and cheap option.
I guess it was. Unfortunately, it did not prepare me for a good night's sleep as my BG rose and rose and rose.
Would have been a good time for Libring but alas I am only partially wired today.
And that wiring is wrapped around my thigh as I chose to wear a dress today (gotta look smart for customers). Last night, as I wandered through the airport, I discovered my wrapping was not tight enough as I could feel my pump slipping. Thankfully, I averted a major International incident but not without a lot of public fidgeting.
Strap is tighter today so pump shouldn't slip - I may lose feeling in my leg because it is too tight but the pump is not going to slip.
Only positive is the development of more swear words, not all is lost!!!@Mel dCP that'll teach you to watch rubbish... sorry I find the programme awful
@Robinredbreast I like your new avatar and think, by the way, that your starting this thread was brilliant. I feel as though I'm not only in a community who understands diabetes but on this particular thread loads of support and fun from T1s. My Wednesday so far has been super. thanks sueGood morning all, hope you are doing okay and wishing you a wonderful Wednesday
Can we see them?2nd week of playing squash and second week of a morning reading of 12.7.
mmmmm need to adjust.....
Back to normal now though and this morning whilst at home from my split shift I made 4 Gothic reindeer!

Well... there is always kevlar underwear !! And whilst I agree that wearing a pump during rock climbing borders on the very high level of strength, contortionist and acrobatic activity, I doubt pumps need over-robust containment.I am not sure how true some of those spy novels are.
It is clear there is some careful editing in movies and tv series: there was no weapon in their boot/sleeve/strapped across their stomach/... before they bought it out. Not only would there be a noticeably bulge but they could not perform some of those acrobatic combat scenes with a blade stuck down their trousers. At least not without a noticeable change to their voices.
Good morning and happy world diabetes day
Libre change last night. What a PITA it is to get the sticky stick of the MM, thought I had found the ideal solution WD40 BUT not last night grrrr. Took me an hour to get it all off. So will be buying a spray tin of brake cleaner today and see if that works.
Have you tried the generic "sticky stuff remover"?Libre change last night. What a PITA it is to get the sticky stick of the MM, thought I had found the ideal solution WD40 BUT not last night grrrr. They could workHi all, not been around as had a friend staying for a few days, slight over-indulgence as a result so bg a bit wobbly - back to the grind now.
Sticky stuff remover - years ago my niece told methat baby wipes removed everything from everything - certainly removed permanent marker from piano keys! Can't think why they're used on babies but they're my last resuort when all else has failed....you never know, @porl69
You could also try baby oilThey could work. Will try them out on next Libre change

ANYWAY Libre saying that I woke to a 9.9, finger prick saying 6.4. Calibrated Xdrip and things seemed ok.....Got into work and alarms are going off like "billio" 11.6 and rising. Finger prick saying the same. Checked the Timesulin on my pen and that coincides with my morning jab. T1D is having a laugh with me today

So had my appointment with my DSN today....
I agreed to lower both basal and bolus to their 1:10 ratio - I'm sure this will result in hyper BG's. I have been told not to do any corrections, and to stop scanning the libre all the time. If I get high enough to cause ketones to phone in and they will change it but other than that just leave it be. And have a follow up appointment in 4 weeks with the dietitian
It was explained to me they want to do this to stop the hypos and give them consistent reading to then work out the correct dosages. I am worried that I'm going to spend the next 4 weeks with high BG (and all my work to bring my hba1c down will be lost), but they sold me on the CONSISTENCY word as I feel at the moment there is no consistency in my readings and they think this is due to me being too proactive and trying too hard to constantly keep my BG in my target range.
It's going to be hard to resist the temptation to correct my BG and not to check my Libre regularly, but I have to trust the experts (I actually got a senior DSN brought into the appointment as I kept questioning the original DSN and she wanted some help).
I was also told that they would fund my Libre but only after I have completed the DAFNE course which I'm on a waiting list for.
