I’d forgotten galahs, Kitedoc, not as sleep disturbing as a cockatoo, or a bush turkey on the roof.

Night night all, sleep well.

Where’s the fat come from? I bake my own sourdough bread. The ingredients are flour, water and salt. No fat.
I’ll stick with HCLF
If you fancy VHCLF, you could add some of my Mum’s raspberry jam. No fat in that either
Hi @helensaramay, Pedant here. If you look at www.immuneweb.org/lowcarb/food/grains.html showing USDA carbs and protein content for various flours you will see that:
............................................Protein/100g......................Fat/100g........................ Carbs/100g
...Wheat flours: ....................9.6 - 13.7...........................1 - 1.95 ..........................74.2 - 87
....Rye flours:............................9.39..................................1.77..................................79.4
....Sesame flour.........................17.7................................49.7....................................23.4
&
....Chia seeds............................16.4................................30.74..................................42.2

Morning everyone, have a good day. Wet and grey here, I miss the sunshine

Toast? done to a point where it is not far off black, deep golden brown, half inch of butter plus marmalade or jam.
Low carb in my book.

Its Monday ain't it?

I sometime wonder why I work with technology when our network really is held together with spaghetti and gaffa tape.

~sigh~ when is it 4:30?

@helensaramay One mini-rant???????

Morning all, a lot of rain here last night so most of the snow and ice has gone. Funny weekend with a couple of lows, nothing major but the wife wants to know why as soon as she mentions shopping (food) I seem to dip low........too low.........!?

Sorry to disappoint @helensaramay, raspberries are an excellent food according to whfoods.com who quote:
123 g fresh raspberries contain: 1.48g protein, 0.8 g fat, 14.69g carbs and 7.19 g fibre
They contain every vitamin and mineral except: Vit B12, D and lycopene, boron, chromium, fluoride, Iodine and molybdenum
and alas no caffeine !! Probably not a good engineering material, I would hazard !!

Well that's good to know. I got eight punnets of raspberries in Morrison's yesterday, reduced to 30p each! Our family ate two punnets yesterday, another two will get eaten tonight and the rest went in the freezer. I drown them in cream to boost the fat content.

Hi @helensaramay, not trying to sway you, just noting that nature seems to accumulate most things into the food we eat.
As omnivores we can live in so many different environments with such adaptive metabolisms.
Not that I am suggesting anyone try living near a deep sea hot vent and sampling the soup!!
But perhaps the adhesive properties of raspberry jam and glutenous properties of bread could be trialled against that of mussel shells and hagfish slime - if one has the appetite for it in the kitchen laboratory !!

.
But it does lead to the next question: does carbon affect our bg?
Please.....after 48 years I am just getting into counting carbs....don't add more to my poor old taxed brain.... You'll be telling me protein counts next

G'day all. Well starting my final few days of injecting. Am getting pump jitters at the moment...both nervous and excited at the same time??

You will need to count carbs to help your pump calculate your pre-meal bolus doses !!

Morning all, just trying to catch up on the160 posts since I last logged in on Thursday...

Had the best long weekend, on the way home now. BG mostly behaved. The odd dip to the low threes, easily dealt with, even on the front rail at a gig with 2000+ Alarm fans jumping around behind me. An occasional high, but nothing over 8.5, so I’m pretty happy with that. Also, my knees feel weird* This was the first event of this scale I’ve been to since getting my pump, and it’s made life so much easier, diabetically speaking. Sudden bursts of activity and adrenaline are so easily dealt with!

Back to reality today, but have a four hour journey through beautiful mid Wales to enjoy first

*for “weird”, read all puffy and full of fluid. Like they’ve been over-inflated with a bicycle pump. Too much jumping around in New Rock Reactors! Ugh.

Morning and wishing you all a Happy Monday. The snow is melting, but the ground is very sludgy here. Son phoned me as he was walking back from early start job, he was slipping so much and then he came to a place he crosses and he said it is like a river !! and told me not to venture out
Take care out there

? standing a long time with tight knee high boots on ?? Safe journey and hope the sitting helps dispel the fluid !!
